I am a chemist and I am currently a PhD student at the University of Pavia. My main research interests are crystallography, crystal chemistry solid-state chemistry. I am working on the structural characterization of mineral inclusions, meteoritic diamonds and Al-Ni-Fe alloys. The main project is focused on the characterization of mineral inclusions in cratonic diamonds of unclear origin, such as iron oxides.  Iron oxides might show magnetic ordering and their magnetic properties are time and temperature dependant, thus providing information on the conditions in which the host diamonds formed.  To characterize such inclusions, I am using X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectroscopy (RS), Alternating Field Gradient Magnetometry (AFGM) and synchrotron X-ray micro-tomography (SXRMT).
